James P. Yudes was born in New York, New York on July 5, 1950. Mr. Yudes attended Villanova University where he received both his B.S. and J.D. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1975 and began the James P. Yudes law firm in 1978. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, United States Tax Court, United States Court of Appeals 3^rd . Circuit and United States Supreme Court. He is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Attorney and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has served as a trustee of the New Jersey Bar Association and as chairman of its family law section. He has also served as Chairman of the Union County Early Settlement Program.

Mr.Yudes is one of the authors of the Yudes Family Law Citator and the Yudes Consumer Guide to a New Jersey Divorce and currently teaches the matrimonial certification review course for the Institute For Continuing Legal Education.

Mr. Yudes has also been involved in numerous reported cases including Dugan v. Dugan , 92 N.J. 423 (1983), Innes v. Innes , 117 N.J. 496 (1990), Carr v. Carr , 120 N.J. 336 (1990), DiIorio v. Super. 649 (Ch. Div. 1996), Schuyler v. Ashcraft , 293 N.J. Super. 261 (App. Div. 1996), Heuer v. Heuer , 152 N.J. 226 (1998), Murphy v. Murphy , 313 N.J. Super. 575 (App. Div. 1998), Shalit v. Shalit , 323 N.J. Super. 351 (Ch. Div. 1999) and Miller v. Miller, 160 N.J. 408 (1999).
